Dear little one, our beloved smaller brother.
Our hearts are filled with sadness, for we had to say goodbye.
Carry with you the certainty that we will keep in our hearts all the love we shared while you were among us.
So many joys you gave us, too many to count.
Your many escapes through the neighborhood, when everyone already knew you were at it again, yet hurried to bring you home.
Your endless kisses, your cheerful spirit whenever we petted you.
The times when we sat at the table to eat, and you would sneak quietly to our feet, ready to catch a tiny piece of meat we “accidentally” dropped just for you.
Even the playful bites of affection you sometimes couldn’t resist giving us.

All these memories and many more will never fade, for you will always live within us.
But now you must continue your journey. You are moving on to another dimension.
The Spirits of the Lord who are now entrusted with your care will be to you what we were during your sixteen years of life, your loving guardians, ready to give you all the affection you need to move forward and be happy as the immortal soul you are.
Be certain that we will never forget you, though life must continue.
You now live beyond the stars, for death is only a passage, a change of address.

Whenever we remember you, it will be with joy in our hearts, for we know that our grief and despair at losing you could reach you and perhaps hinder your spiritual progress.
Know that the light of the One who created all things will never fail you. You will be surrounded by kind friends who will help you adjust to your new home.
